ABOUT ME
BACKGROUND
Being part of the first generation in my family to attend college is not only a personal milestone but also a testament to the sacrifices and aspirations of my parents. Their journey from Mexico to the United States serves as a constant source of inspiration, motivating me to make the most of the educational opportunities they worked so hard to provide.

As a student, I actively seek out ways to give back to my community and contribute to initiatives that support others facing similar challenges. Engaging in volunteer work and participating in community outreach programs has allowed me to connect with diverse perspectives and broaden my understanding of the world.
Furthermore, my multicultural background has cultivated in me a deep appreciation for diversity and inclusion. I believe that embracing different cultures enhances our collective strength and enriches our shared experiences. This belief not only guides my interactions with others but also fuels my desire to create a positive impact on the broader community.

My journey as a first-generation college student is more than a personal accomplishment; it is a continuous commitment to growth, resilience, and contributing to a society that values diversity and hard work.
ASPIRATIONS
I aspire to deepen my comprehension of the intricacies of the world and its diverse inhabitants. The immersive and enriching nature of the International Scholars Program is a key avenue through which I intend to achieve this understanding. Despite my excitement, there's a lingering concern that the wealth of opportunities provided may be challenging to fully explore. Nevertheless, I am committed to making the most of every chance and pushing my boundaries.

Looking beyond my undergraduate journey, I have strategic plans for my academic future. Upon earning my bachelor's degree, I am determined to pursue graduate studies. Armed with a solid foundation in public health, disabilities, and proficiency in Spanish, my ultimate goal is to make meaningful contributions to underserved communities that often go unnoticed and neglected. The ambition to earn a Ph.D. serves as a driving force, propelling me toward a future where I can actively engage in research and advocacy to address healthcare disparities and empower marginalized populations.
